Gal Leg Spurs Western Cowboy Boot Spur Set of 2 is a matched set of vintage antique reproduction McChesney Gal Leg Cowboy Boot Spurs. These are new reproductions of the original McChesney Gal Leg spurs, some artistic liberty has been taken with these modern reproductions as the engravings differ from original 1920s Gal Leg Spurs. These steel cowboy spurs are hand-forged from steel, the legs are copper inlaid, and the yokes are overlaid with nickel-plated engravings. The large strap buttons also have ornate designs similiar to a set of 1920s Cowboy Gal Leg Boot Spurs. The cowboy leg spurs feature black yokes and are single-mounted with the exception of the rowels, which have a shoe on each side. Gal Leg spurs were very popular at the time and are highly collectable - one theory of the spurs popularity is that a lonely cowboy could look down at his boots to be reminded of his woman now and again. Vintage-style Cowboy Gal Leg Spurs measure 6 x 4 x 1 1/8 inches overall each with 3-inch-wide heel bands and 1 1/8 inch 11 spoke rowels. The rowels turn freely and the large strap buttons will hold a leather strap well. This spur set makes a great gift for western collectors, enthusiasts, rodeo performers, or for yourself as a conversation piece in your home or office.
