This type of spur has a larger rowel than popular western-style spurs, but is smaller than the unbelievable 6-8 inch rowels introduced to the western world in the 1500s by the armies of Cortez. These are not very ornate spurs, indicative of a traditional home-made spur set from the 1600s. Cowboy horse riding spurs each weigh about 12 ounces, and measure 7 inches long, 4.5 inches wide. These vintage western-style boot spurs would make a fine addition to any western collection, as well as a great gift for fans of old western movies, western Americana enthusiasts, or just as a conversation piece in your own home or office.
